This is Life is a blog I started a few years ago now, since then I have scratched everything and started over, then it became This is Life, a way of documenting my final year at Emmanuel Bible College, and creating for myself a yearbook. Now that my year is over it is a new chapter in my life, so why stop... what ever is next, I suppose I will be sharing. Enjoy !

A Wedding on the Board...
This morning Robbie and I had to give a short presentation to the Board of Governors. It went really well and the meeting was quite interesting. I was also given the chance to chat with one of the board members at lunch. He gave me advice on future in counseling and from his experience as a psychotherapist. It was great.
This afternoon Matthew Gates and Melissa Goodridge were married here at Emmanuel. It was a beautiful wedding and the reception was held in the campus centre.

Last shall be first.
I don't know why the innocents fall
While the monsters stand
I don't know why the little ones thirst
But I know the last shall be first - Flags by Brooke Fraser
Lately I've been having a number of conversations about why suffering happens. While discussing this I continue to come to the conclusion that I have no idea. All I can do is remind myself and others of the promises God has for us. Not promises that life won't hurt or that pain wont happen we live in a world of turmoil. John 16:33 says "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world"
It is clear this world will bring trouble but also that we have hope in Christ. The very promises of Christ are what we can hold onto in remembrance of the day where we will no longer suffer.
"Looking at his disciples, he said: "Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil because of the Son of Man". - Luke 6:22.

Superbowl Sunday !!!
Well tonight was the Superbowl and Green bay was taking on the Steelers. And to our excitement Green Bay won 31-25.
For this event I made a cake, and we got all decked out to cheer on our team. It was a great time with new friends and old.
