Co-President Already?

Well my first week of being Student Council Co- President here at Emmanuel Bible College is over. I am already feeling a bit overwhelmed. I don’t know if anyone will actually be reading this but if you are you are probably wondering why I am writing about Student Council President. Well I have been blogging for quite a few years now but its been very on and off and I wanted a way to keep me motivated to blog each week and a way to remember my days as Student Council President of a college as that is pretty big, at least for me it is, so I thought what better way!

So Let me give you some history, Me and my friend Robbie both applied for this position but both in support of the other one if they got it. We had both put much prayer and devotion into seeing if it was right for us but neither could give up the chance to even simply apply. In order to become president you must have an interview and once the interviewers pick who they would like for the position they bring you before the student body for affirmation and if 20% of the respondents say no then you do not get it. Well apparently they could not choose between me and Robbie as we both work very well together and compliment each other in many ways so they decided to not have a vice president and have two presidents. Know I know this seems a little unorthodox but stick with me because I this is going to be an amazing learning experience for all of us.

So far me and Robbie have learned we need to work on our communication. Robbie has many brilliant ideas but sometimes needs a filter (aka Me) and I often need a push. I am organized but not very academic where as Robbie is very Academic and not as organized. I am very involved in the student and a little bit involved in the staff and Robbie has a great passion for the staff and being involved in major decisions of the school, which I am passionate about but not to the same extent so we are able to push each other out of our comfort zones as well as work to improve our strengths. This past week we have made a video about our theme for next year. Which I will post once it is all finished and ready to go, as well as do some recordings to go on radio stations about how awesome EBC is and started to plan for next year. This summer will be hard because we are living in different places but this will show us how much more we need to communicate.

So this is my introduction to my blog for the next year. I hope you enjoy it.
