A Change is Gonna Come

"It's been a long, a long time coming But I know a change is gonna come, oh yes it will".

The lyrics of the Sam Cooke classic have been ringing in my mind for the past few weeks. It seems that Emmanuel has some changes happening. I am excited to be apart of this but still dealing with some of the changes myself. As the year winded down and I began to prepare for president there were many people beginning to leave our school. Although these changes were difficult I trust in God to provide the right people to fill those gaps. Soon after that I learned that chapel was being cut to two days. This was a shock for me because of the love I have for chapel but once again I trust the leadership of this school and there decisions were not made lightly, the final change that has shook me the most was the resignation of our Dean of Student Life. This was tough news because of the bond I have created with her. So truly God has many changes in store for our campus and I can not even begin to understand what our next year will look like.

I believe that change can be difficult for anyone but that change must be embraced as well. As a body of Christ we are called to come together and be His hands and feet and so my prayer is that regardless of change or disagreement our school would come together as a body, ready to serve God with all we have.
